Pain Management
Unfortunately, our office only deals with acute pain from auto & work injuries.
Whatever part of you it is that hurts, you only want one thing: Make it stop. We use medications and various therapeutic medicines to restore normal body function. Conservative forms of treatment may include non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication, a muscle relaxant, a prescription drug for pain during the acute phase, and physical therapy. Along with these therapies, spinal traction may be recommended. The patient will be evaluated and managed by a physician throughout their treatment.

Osteopathic Care
The osteopathic approach is to treat the whole body. An osteopathic physician recognizes that a problem in one part of the body can also affect other parts as well, not to mention pain can affect the patient's psychological well being.
|
Muscle Therapy
Hands-on therapy can be applied to parts of the body to aid the process of injury healing, manage pain, and improve circulation.
|
Traction
There are many types of disorders known to cause back pain including those defined as mechanical and/or compressive. Mechanical back pain commonly stems from injury or a degenerative process affecting discs, joints, ligaments and/or muscles. Pain from an irritated or 'compressed' nerve root, such as in Sciatica, is termed compressive pain. |
Electrical Stimulation
Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) is the most common form of electrical stimulation used in pain management. It is not painful and does not require needles or medicine. TENS consists of a device that can diminish pain by stimulating nerve fibers through the skin.
|
Manipulation/Chiropractic Care
Spinal adjustment can help realign your spine and release muscle tension and pain as well as increase blood flow in the area.
|
Ultrasound
Therapeutic ultrasound is used to increase blood flow to the area, reducing inflammation and minimize scar tissue.
|
Therapeutic Exercises
Various exercises can be used throughout your treatment to stretch and condition your muscles.
|
Trigger Point Injections
Trigger point injection (TPI) is used to treat extremely painful areas of muscle. Normal muscle contracts and relaxes when it is active. A trigger point is a knot or tight, ropy band of muscle that forms when muscle fails to relax. The knot often can be felt under the skin and may twitch involuntarily when touched

EMG Testing
The doctor may recommend an EMG test to see if there is any nerve damage or inflammation.
